Process Service or Service of Process is the procedure employed to give legal notice to a person, such as a defendant, of a court or administrative body’s exercise of its jurisdiction over that person so as to enable that person to respond to the proceeding before the court, body or other tribunal. Usually, notice is furnished by delivering a set of court documents (called “Process”) to the person to be served.
Why do I need a Process Server?
A process server acts as deliverer of your documents to the party or individual who is being served. Professional process servers should know the local laws and areas in which they cover. They are trained professionals with experience that will help move your case forward. This provides quicker turnaround times for you and a more professional service from beginning to end. After your documents are served, the server will supply an Affidavit or Proof of Service for your case.

ServeFinder.net allows process servers to advertise across their entire service areas. I’ve noticed that sometimes my listing is in the top spot and other times it is the second or third spot… What’s going on?
ServeFinder.net utilizes what is called “dynamic listings” for our process server listings. We believe that nobody should be automatically given the top spot in our directory because of where the company lands alphabetically. Based upon multiple factors, your listing will move up and down depending on how active you are in the ServeFinder community. We will never publish the exact formulas used (to protect from tampering) but making sure your profile is complete and that you are active in commenting on reviews and participating on ServeFinder.net will always help you move up the listings.
Is their a way to guarantee my listing is in the top spot?
Although there is no way to “guarantee” your company listing is always in the top spot, there are some simple steps that you can take to help move higher up the listings. Interacting with customers by commenting on reviews, having a complete and readable profile page, having a website, click through rate, total visitors and submitting articles to the community (coming soon) will all help you move up the listings.
I have offices in more than one state, how does that work?
You only need to fill out one profile page, no matter how many states you serve process in. But each state is considered it’s own area. So if you sign up for a basic listing and only want to be listed in three counties, you won’t be able to cover three counties in three different states. The reason for this is to keep people from signing up for a basic listing and then trying to have their company listed for Los Angeles County, Cook County and Miami-Dade County. So even though you will only need one profile for your process server listing, you will still have to pay for listings in each individual state. Certain situations will be reviewed manually when needed. For example, when a process server covers a few counties in one state that are up against the border of another state and also works in nearby counties in the second state.
I just signed up to be listed as a process server and I can’t view my profile… Did I do something wrong?
No, you didn’t do anything wrong. To make sure that no spam or unwanted companies end up in our listings, we manually approve all sign ups. After you sign up to be listed as a process server, your request will go into our queue. You should then receive an invoice for your listing subscription. Once you pay your invoice and are approved, your process server listing will go live for the world to see.
How do i get my logo to show up in the little box next to the comments I leave in the review section of my process server listing?
